VSN Challenge…A Smashing Backgound

"Back before we had red dye#8 and yellow dye #2, what did we use to make color?  Berries, leaves, bark and flowers!  My challenge to you is to make a background using the "Smashed Petals" technique.  Your background should not have any traditional stamps or inks on it–save those for your focal image–use the shapes and colors from the flower petals to decorate your background."

I had never done this technique before.  It really looks nice though.  For the background I used Pink, Red, and Purple petunias, bright pink and light pink impatients.

Paper:  Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum, White

Ink: Smashed flowers, Elegant Eggplant

Stamps:  I’m Here, That’s Nice

The next VSN Challenge was: "What’s the best thing about flowers?  All the colors to choose from of course!  I have a really hard time deciding…pink, red, yellow, blue?  Don’t you wish they came in multiple colors with multiple shades?  Now they can!  We’re going to use the baby wipe technique to make our own color combos."

You can find the tutorial on the Baby Wipe Tutorial by Beate Johns on SCS——>Here!
