Thursday is our Pastor’s wife’s Birthday!  She is also our piano player at church, so tomorrow night at choir practice we will celebrate her birthday.  If you knew Karen, then you would know how much she loves a party.  She also would tell you that everyone should celebrate their birthday for a WHOLE MONTH!  That way nobody is ever late with their card or gift because you have the whole month to celebrate!  Since she has been so faithful in planning parties for everyone else’s bday, we wanted to surprise her with a party of her own.  Another lady from church planned out this book and I just made it happen!  Darlyne and I had eaten at Red Robin not that long ago and I mentioned to her that I had some of their beverage coasters.  She asked me what I was planning on doing with them and I told her "craft stuff" like books, etc.  She let her brain run wild and this is what we came up with!!  Sorry some of the pictures are a tad blurry.  I should have taken pictures of the pages before it was put together!!!  Next time I’ll know better!!

Here is the front of the book.  I covered the coasters with the Office Accoutrement paper and also some from the Petals and Paisley paper.  I printed the white circles on the computer and printed them out.  I really didn’t want to have to line up all my alphabet stamps!!

This is on the inside of the front cover.  Each page will have an alphabet letter on it.  Not all 26 were used, just 10!!  As she reads this aloud, she will be presented with the items chosen.

"A" stands for Arbys.  Apparently Karen loves to eat at Arby’s!  I think she will be getting some gift certificates to eat there.  I left the lines blank so she could fill them in later if she wants.
The pages of the book are Barely Banana and I used the Big Deal alphabet in Tempting Turquoise.  The hamburger is from the Backyard BBQ set and stamped in Basic Brown.

"B" is for Birthday Card.
I used Circle of Friendship and also Happy Everything for these stamps. They are stamped in Cool Caribbean and So Saffron.

"C" is for Cupcakes.  The cupcake stamp is from Time for Fun and I made the other cupcakes from the Round Tab Punch.

"F" is for Flowers.

I used the small flower stamp from Pick a Petal with Versamark, and punched the other flowers from Groovy Guava card stock.  It is one of the new In Colors for 07-08.

"H" is for Happy Birthday Song!  Of course that’s when we’ll sing to her.  I thought the music decor was perfect for her.  The musical background stamp I bought at Hobby Lobby on Clearance!!!!

"M" is for M&M’s!  Anyone who is around Karen for very long will learn of her addiction to chocolate!!!  We went with them on a weekend trip to Branson in April and she bought a 1 lb bag of M&M’s for the weekend, and had them all eaten by the time they arrived.  It is about a 4 hour trip from KC!!!  The circles are the center of the flower from the Pick a Petal Stamp set and the m is from Brushstroke Alphabet.

"O’ is for Olive Garden.  This is another one of Karen’s favorite places to eat.  I’d much rather eat there than Arby’s!!  I am going to take her to lunch for her Bday so that’s my gift to her.  The herb plants are from an old retired SU set called Sweet Herbs.  I also realize that the O isn’t green but I put the red circle in the middle to sorta resemble an olive!!

"P" is for People Who Love Me!  I wrote the names of the choir members names on here.  The heart stamp is from Happy Hearts and is stamped in Pretty In Pink.

"S" is for Streamers.  When we celebrated Darlyne’s bday, Karen had dress up shoes, tiara, and boa for her to wear.  The streamers will be wrapped around Karen, as to resemble a boa….sorta!!!

"T" is for Tiara!  Darlyne is going to bring hers back to recycle on Karen!!!  I couldn’t find a tiara stamp so I used one of those kids craft foam stickers!

This is the inside of the back cover!  This is how the book ends!  I hope she enjoys our fun little creation.  We will definitely enjoy celebrating her birthday on Wednesday night!!

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!
