I’m Being Invaded!!!

Oh My Goodness!!!  I have been invaded by those orange ladybugs!  Last year we just had a few in the basement, but this year they have multiplied!  YIKES!!!

These are two of the lights above my crafting area!  I have been getting dive-bombed by these annoying things for the last few days!  I wish they would go away!!  I know people back home that have thousands of them, but we only had a few….until this year!!!  This is the most I’ve seen in one place so far!  I wish they wouldn’t be confused about coming inside instead of outside!!!

Saturday was Joshua’s 10th Birthday!  It was a nice relaxing day that we all spent at home together.  He chose to go to Cracker Barrel for his Bday supper and then we headed over to Cabela’s to look around and accompany Dad who actually wanted to buy something!  I left without my camera so I didn’t get any pictures of our supper or outing.  Bummer!
Here are a few Pics from the day at home!

The erector set is quite challenging!  He’s enjoying it, but has to take a break quite frequently to keep from getting frustrated!  We’ve learned that the tools they include for you to use don’t always fit into the places you are supposed to use them!!!  It does take a lot of patience!!

His big present this year was a new bike.  Hopefully this one will last for quite a while!  The Erector set was from his Uncle Hippy (Jeremy), Aunt Stacey and cousins JP and Tabitha!
The Pictionary game was from his sister!

We spent a lot of the day playing games.  We played Phase 10 the card game and also Phase 10 the dice game.  Here are a few pics from that!

We had  a fun time playing.  The last picture on the right was Josh frustrating his dad!!  He was having fun dealing however he wanted to!  Dad is a stickler for dealing CORRECTLY!!!  (Stacey- we just talked about that when I was home last!!!)  It was a fun day!
Happy Birthday to my #1 Son!  (I can say that because I only have one!!!)
Enjoy your week and hug your kids!!!

Since I haven’t had much time to stamp lately. I’ve taken that time to CASE some of my favorites.  My stamping space is a complete disaster so it’s a little hard to get the creative juices flowing.  I do much better when my space is cleaned up!  Maybe I’ll get to that this week.  Since I hauled a bunch of my stuff to the church Friday night, it’s still in a tote and not put away!  I started this card over spring break but finished it last night.  I can’t haul everything I have everytime I leave, so sometimes I have to stamp in stages!!
This is made from one of my newer sets from Paper Trey Ink called Out On A Limb.  I LOVE how Nichole puts so much though into her stamp sets and because she is a stamper herself, knows what would be helpful!!

I really love these colors together!  This was a really easy card to make, but I love it’s simplicity, and its elegance all at the same time!

Supplies Used:

Stamps: PTI- Out On A Limb
Paper: River Rock. Cool Caribbean, White
Ink: River Rock, Cool Caribbean
Accessories: Flower Brads, River Rock Ribbon, Liquid Applique

Until Next Time….Take a moment to clean up your stamp space!! (maybe you don’t have that problem!!!  I sure do!)

Well, I mentioned on Friday that we were having a Ladies Fellowship night at church.  Some of the Ladies are not craft people so we offered games for them to encourage more than the crafters to come out that night.  Some of the Ladies got a lesson in Crocheting.  I have done that before, but it’s been years ago!!!  I usually end up talking more than crafting so I didn’t get much done!  I usually consider myself a closet stamper!  I have a terrible time getting anything done when others are around.  Just ask my SIL!!! 🙂  Below is a picture from Friday night and also, what I worked on!
I can’t believe I didn’t get any pictures of those stamping!  Oh well!  I was having fun watching those crocheting I guess!  It was fun listening to them talk about finger cramps, tearing out, and looping!  We had a great time!!

I took a Tootsie Roll Bank container with me to cover.  That’s all I got done!  Isn’t that terrible…..  What can I say, I’m too much of a social character to concentrate when people are sitting around chatting!

I can’t remember who made the DP, but the other colors are SU!  Tempting Turquoise, White, and Regal Rose.  I used my Nestabilities to cut the ovals, and I used my SU! punches for the top scalloped cirlce and circle layers.  I used my slit punch to create the scallops on the piece around the bottom.

Here is a picture of the top!

Have a wonderful week ahead!

My Cyber friend Sharon has put together a chart to keep track of which Copics you have and their color shade.  If you would like something like this for yourself, you can find it on her blog.  The link is below!  Also, since I’m from Kansas City, I found out that Copic is offering a Certification Class on Oct 9th!  I can’t wait to find out more information about that!  I need all the help that I can get!!

I haven’t used my Copics much because I wasn’t having much luck with my black ink.  It always seemed to smear while coloring the image.  I had heard many people mention the Pallette Noir black hybrid ink, but didn’t have that kind.  I finally got one and need to try it out now.  Here is an article that Ellen Hutson posted about using Copics and other Black inks.  I think this may come in handy!

Until Next Time….Happy Coloring!!
