Yet another Baroque Motif…

This card design was cased from someone else, but I changed the colors and greeting and also added those weird semi-circle brads!
I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the flowers because there is no way I could have done that on my own!!  If you don’t know what the stamp-a-ma-jig is you can find my tutorial here!  The colors I used were from last years In Colors.  Tomorrow the 30th is the last day that you can order these, then they will be retired forever!  The colors are:  Cranberry Crisp, Marigold Morning, True Thyme.  I used the Ticket corner punch on the greeting.

I also made a "Mr. Crabby Pants" card, as Dawn would say, but it escaped out the door to a bday party before I got a picture of it!  I’ll have to make some more!

Until Next Time…Happy Creating!!!

Karen’s Party!

F_is_for_flowersAfter Choir practice last night we all went into the church office to celebrate Karen’s Bday.  I thought I’d post a couple of the pics from it.  She was very surprised, but she had a great time!!!
If you haven’t seen the book I made for this party you can see it here, then you’ll understand these pictures better!!

This is F is for Flowers.

S is for streamers!  We had a few streamers hung around the office for decoration, but we thought she should be decorated as well!  Look at that cute Blondie in the background!  She belongs to me!!!

T is for Tiara.  Of course the bday queen needed to have a bday tiara.  She would hate this picture because I think she was talking when I took it!

It was a lot of fun and we didn’t even get home until 11:00pm.  I never keep my kids out that late.  I had to wake up my daughter this morning because we had to be at the dentist by 9:40.  I think I could even use a nap from being up that late!!!

Happy 57th Birthday Karen!

Pick A Petal Card 2!

Dsc05776Well here is the card that I said I needed to finish.  I had the flower done a couple of days ago and needed to put it on the card.  The flower is stamped with white craft ink and embossed on Purely Pomegranate.  The center of the flower and the card base is Groovy Guava.  I accented with Black and the green polka dot paper is from DCWV Nana’s Kids paper stack.  I stamped the flower center around on the card base with my versamark ink pad also.

I was really hoping to find my Demo copy of the new catalog today but that wasn’t the case.  I am still hoping the big brown truck stops by later too!  I’m still not holding my breath about that either!  Since I seem to be in a rut of not getting what I want (or am waiting for!), I do have one bit of good mail that I received today!!!

I was so excited when I stumbled across these new stamps when I was checking out Gina K Designs!  You know how the craze for the scalloped punches has been lately!  Well, Gina K has designed some doodles to use with those punches!  I’m not the greatest doodler (is that really a word?), but I love the look.  Of course since I have the circle, oval and square punches, I needed all three stamp sets as well!!!

Until Next Time….Happy Creating (and punching!)

Pick A Petal Butterfly…

Dsc05760Here is the first card that I have completed with the new Pick A Petal stamp set from Stampin Up!  This is going to be a fun set to play with.  I have a couple of flowers made but haven’t finished the cards.  Maybe I can do that today and post them later.  My kids want to go to the community center and swim or "work out" this afternoon, so we’ll see!  I think I will give this one to Karen tonight at Choir practice because we will be celebrating her bday then also.

Colors used are:  Tempting Turquoise and Barely Banana.
Stamp sets used:  Pick a Petal, Happy Everything
Accessories: Ticket punch, silver brads, googly eyes! Cuttlebug embossing folder

Thursday is our Pastor’s wife’s Birthday!  She is also our piano player at church, so tomorrow night at choir practice we will celebrate her birthday.  If you knew Karen, then you would know how much she loves a party.  She also would tell you that everyone should celebrate their birthday for a WHOLE MONTH!  That way nobody is ever late with their card or gift because you have the whole month to celebrate!  Since she has been so faithful in planning parties for everyone else’s bday, we wanted to surprise her with a party of her own.  Another lady from church planned out this book and I just made it happen!  Darlyne and I had eaten at Red Robin not that long ago and I mentioned to her that I had some of their beverage coasters.  She asked me what I was planning on doing with them and I told her "craft stuff" like books, etc.  She let her brain run wild and this is what we came up with!!  Sorry some of the pictures are a tad blurry.  I should have taken pictures of the pages before it was put together!!!  Next time I’ll know better!!

Here is the front of the book.  I covered the coasters with the Office Accoutrement paper and also some from the Petals and Paisley paper.  I printed the white circles on the computer and printed them out.  I really didn’t want to have to line up all my alphabet stamps!!

This is on the inside of the front cover.  Each page will have an alphabet letter on it.  Not all 26 were used, just 10!!  As she reads this aloud, she will be presented with the items chosen.

"A" stands for Arbys.  Apparently Karen loves to eat at Arby’s!  I think she will be getting some gift certificates to eat there.  I left the lines blank so she could fill them in later if she wants.
The pages of the book are Barely Banana and I used the Big Deal alphabet in Tempting Turquoise.  The hamburger is from the Backyard BBQ set and stamped in Basic Brown.

"B" is for Birthday Card.
I used Circle of Friendship and also Happy Everything for these stamps. They are stamped in Cool Caribbean and So Saffron.

"C" is for Cupcakes.  The cupcake stamp is from Time for Fun and I made the other cupcakes from the Round Tab Punch.

"F" is for Flowers.

I used the small flower stamp from Pick a Petal with Versamark, and punched the other flowers from Groovy Guava card stock.  It is one of the new In Colors for 07-08.

"H" is for Happy Birthday Song!  Of course that’s when we’ll sing to her.  I thought the music decor was perfect for her.  The musical background stamp I bought at Hobby Lobby on Clearance!!!!

"M" is for M&M’s!  Anyone who is around Karen for very long will learn of her addiction to chocolate!!!  We went with them on a weekend trip to Branson in April and she bought a 1 lb bag of M&M’s for the weekend, and had them all eaten by the time they arrived.  It is about a 4 hour trip from KC!!!  The circles are the center of the flower from the Pick a Petal Stamp set and the m is from Brushstroke Alphabet.

"O’ is for Olive Garden.  This is another one of Karen’s favorite places to eat.  I’d much rather eat there than Arby’s!!  I am going to take her to lunch for her Bday so that’s my gift to her.  The herb plants are from an old retired SU set called Sweet Herbs.  I also realize that the O isn’t green but I put the red circle in the middle to sorta resemble an olive!!

"P" is for People Who Love Me!  I wrote the names of the choir members names on here.  The heart stamp is from Happy Hearts and is stamped in Pretty In Pink.

"S" is for Streamers.  When we celebrated Darlyne’s bday, Karen had dress up shoes, tiara, and boa for her to wear.  The streamers will be wrapped around Karen, as to resemble a boa….sorta!!!

"T" is for Tiara!  Darlyne is going to bring hers back to recycle on Karen!!!  I couldn’t find a tiara stamp so I used one of those kids craft foam stickers!

This is the inside of the back cover!  This is how the book ends!  I hope she enjoys our fun little creation.  We will definitely enjoy celebrating her birthday on Wednesday night!!

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!

These were just simple 4-1/4" square cards that I made using my DCWV Nana’s Kids paper with Glitter!!!  The designs are sooo cute!!!  I thought this paper would work great with the new SU Zoofari stamps that I pre-ordered!  I used the monkey for one and then decided to replicate the lion using my Marvy Giga and Mega Oval Punches!  How Fun!!

Monkey I used Chocolate Chip for the base card, the DP and then Close to Cocoa and Cream Caramel for the Lion.  I used a sponge dauber and Pixie Pink for the cheeks!  The face is up on dimensionals as well.

Although you can’t really tell, the monkey is layered on Certainly Celery and also Pumpkin Pie.  There are dimensionals between those layers as well.

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!
