I‘m finally getting caught up for the week.  It helps when you combine challenges to get them all in!  I very rarely accomplish every challenge of the week, but I try to do as many as I can.  My favorites are definitely the color challenge, the sketch challenge and the featured stamper of the week.  I try to get to the others if I have time.

Sharon and Vickie….I’m using some of my new paper that we found at the Scrapbook Page last Saturday!!  I decided that can’t hoard it forever.  I’m just glad I didn’t have to make a U turn to use it!!

For everyone else reading this, Sharon, Vickie and I had an adventure last weekend to find this so-called “incredible” scrapbook store.  It took us a while to get there, and afterwards, we decided it wasn’t really “incredible” after all!  I could list out all of the expenses to get there, but the time spent with friends was PRICELESS!!!  Too bad you weren’t with us, or you’d know what I mean!!!  I’ll give you one clue that I’m sure many of you can relate to…..NEVER TRUST MAPQUEST!!!  hee! hee! 🙂

This is the sketch for this week.  The color combo for this week was Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow and Vanilla.

Stamps: Verve Visual– Anniversary Birds, Paper Trey Ink– Butterfly Kisses sentiment

Accessories: Brads, Ribbon, Nestabilities, Dimensionals

Until Next Time…..Try a SCS Challenge!

Since I haven’t had but a moment to stamp in the last couple of weeks, I decided today was going to be my play day!  Well….it’s always good to have a plan for the day, but that doesn’t mean that the plan will work.  I got through me email and all of the recent blog posts this morning and just as I was going to plan my creative time, a friend called and needed a babysitter while she sang at a funeral today.  So my creative time soon became being creative with a 1 year old!  I must admit, she’s a very fun 1 year old to play with too!  I had to run a few errands including delivering pizza to the school for the last label party!  She was a trooper, and all the teachers had fun playing with her!  Then we all went out for lunch when her parents got back.  That was fun too!  So now it’s after 2 and I have just an hour before picking the kids from school.  Tomorrow is their last day and they get out at 11:55 so they won’t be there long.  Just long enough to have all their yearbooks signed and play a game or two!
My sister and her kids are coming down tomorrow too!  They are staying for a week so there will be a lot of action around here!!
Here is the card that I finished between my morning duties and picking the kids up from school!

I chose to make this card for this week’s featured stamper Peanutbee and also for last week’s color challenge.  That color challenge was: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, and Certainly Celery!  I also added Chocolate chip as my neutral color!  The stamp set if called Butterfly Kisses from Paper Trey Ink.

Until Next Time….Mail a card to a friend!!!

Well, I said I would try to post something new yesterday, but ended up babysitting and then had a Graduation to go to!  I did complete this card yesterday, but didn’t get it posted.  Sorry!  I’m sure many of you had picnics and plans for Memorial Day and didn’t have much creative time either!  The following card was made with a set called For the Men by Cornish Heritage Farms.

I started making this card for the featured stamper challenge over at SCS.  I kind of didn’t finish her sketch though!  I decided to leave it like this.  I think I’ll go back and choose another card to case from her wonderful gallery.  This week’s FS is Peanutbee. Check out her gallery when you have a chance!

Happy Stamping!

I don’t have much time and you won’t see much of me this week!  We have a party this weekend that I’m preparing for.  I made this card late Saturday night and I’m just taking a few moments to post it!  This is for the Featured Stamper Challenge this week.  It is to case something from Dawnsing’s gallery!  She makes some simple but elegant cards!  Check out her gallery if you have a chance!  Here is my card,

The card base is Always Artichoke and the DP is from Daisy D’s.  The sentiment is from the CHF Friend Centers stamp set and is up on dimensionals.   The ribbon is from a box of Godiva Chocolates!

Until Next Time…..Happy Creating!!!  Have a great week.  I probably won’t be back until next week!  I’ll try to sneak in some time if I can, but no promises!!!

There is a fairly new stamp company out there called Our Daily Bread Designs.  I have posted a couple of things with their Light of the World Set and this one is called On Eagle’s Wings.

I had this DP in my file from a LONG time ago.  I wasn’t sure what I was going to use it for, but I loved the cross border and the spongy colors.  I used my Nestabilities to cut the oval out of the DP.  I stamped the verse and a smaller piece of white card stock that is adhered to the Chocolate Chip card base.  The top DP layer is up on dimensionals.  I stamped and colored the Eagle on a scrap and cut it out and adhered it in its place.  After I took this picture, I decided to add some Dew Drops to the center of each cross.  It adds a nice effect.

Here is a second card made with this set.

The pink diamond DP is some that has been in my file for a LONG time.  I don’t even know what brand it is!  I love pink and brown together so I thought I’d see how this looked.  I like it!  The verse if propped up on dimensionals.  I added the dew drops, prima flowers and ribbon to help tie the colors together!  This card measures 5″ square.

Have a wonderful day!!  Until Next Time…Ink up some new rubber that hasn’t been used!!

Here is my card for this week’s Sketch Challenge 176.

Amy R filled in for Roxi this week and did a great job!  I really like this sketch!  I think I say that about almost all of them!  There’s just something about having the sketch in front of you that creates a challenge all of it’s own.

The 3 images on the lower panel are all from some DP that I bought at Archiver’s a while back.  It’s almost like the whole sheet was full of postage stamps.  I just cut apart the ones I wanted and set it up!  The butterfly image is from the Touch of Nature set and the Fern is from Cornish Heritage Farms’ Nature Silhouettes set.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink’s Mixed Messages set.

Until next time…Happy Creating!!!

I LOVE this new set released by Verve Visual!  It’s called Father Figure. I knew when I saw it that I needed it!!!  This will be my DH’s Father’s Day card!

Carole (aka TruCarMa on SCS) issued a sketch challenge on her blog last Saturday and I decided to jump in.  I also combined it with this week’s color challenge on SCS.  The colors are Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky, and  Ruby Red.  I LOVE the color challenges on SCS because they issued challenges for colors I would NEVER think of putting together!  This is probably one of those combos.  But look, it works!!!  The DP I used is from the Basic Grey Mellow pack.

Until Next Time… Make a Father’s Day Card!
