SC161 Paisley Thank You…

This is a little bit of a stretch for today’s sketch challenge over at SCS.  Here is the actual sketch! Sc161

The number 4 spot is supposed to be a large flower.  Although Roxi did post,  "If you donโ€™t have a big flower to
cut try a silk flower and if you donโ€™t have that a panel in its place
will work fine, make round, square whatever you wish!
I chose a paisley!  These cards will be sent to my Gma to use.  She always runs out of Thank You cards!!
They winter in Arizona, so she likes cards that represent the area.  I don’t have a lot of stamps to choose from for that.  If you have any good ideas, I’d love to see/hear about them!

Here is my card for this sketch!

Stamps: Denim BG, Cowboy Kid, Wonderful Words
Paper: Real Red, Brocade Blue, Creamy Caramel, White
Ink: Navy, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, White Gel Pen
Accessories: CM Paisley Punch, Sponges

Until Next Time…Happy Creating!!!

Here is my card for the SCS Featured Stamper from a week ago!  I love the FS challenges because it gives me a chance to browse through galleries that I wouldn’t normally have looked at! We all learn so much from each other!  This really is a group sport!! ๐Ÿ™‚
You can find Kathy C’s card here.

This is my version!

This Thomas Kinkade stamp is called Cobblestone Bridge.  You can see the bridge just above the Thinking Of You.

I started with a Chocolate Chip card base measuring 5-1/2" square.
I stamped the TK image in Timber Brown StazOn onto Whisper White card stock.  I layered those images onto Bashful Blue Card Stock.  I used ribbon to highlight the borders of the images.  The sentiment was stamped also in Timber Brown and the scalloped rectangle was cut using my Nestabilites.  I layered that onto Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue.  I used my Slit punch to add the tabs and inserted blue brads.

Until Next Time…Happy Creating!!!  Cruise through a SCS gallery and leave a comment!  Make someone’s day!

I’m almost a week  behind on my SCS Challenges.  I don’t always have time to get them done.  I’d love to complete everyone, but that’s just not reality for me!  I really liked the sketch from last week.  Once I saw it, I knew I wanted to complete it.  Then I saw Jen’s card and LOVED it too!  Since my time is limited, I decided to do a case of Jen’s card and use a past color challenge at the same time.  Here is last week’s sketch for SC160.
Here is Jen’s Card that I loved so much!
You can find many other project from Jen on her blog…i{heart}2Stamp.  She is a great stamper and photographer!

I’ve decided that I love almost any color with Chocolate Chip.  When I first started stamping, that would have been one of the last colors I would have chosen!  Now it’s probably one of the colors I use the most!  Here is my card for SC160.

Stamps: Time Well Spent
Paper: White, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Celery DP
Ink: Black SU Marker, Copic Markers for coloring
Accessories: Prima Flowers, Dimensionals, Corner Rounder to make scallops

Espress Your Pockets!

The Technique Lover’s Challenge at SCS this week was to make a Pixie Pocket Card.  I have made something very similar before but not with these dimensions. The directions are in the first post if you click on the link above.

One of my favorite color combos is Pink and Chocolate Chip.  Since that was one of the VSN challenges, I had some scraps that I thought would work good for this card.  Pink and Brown always goes good with Chocolate!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

My cardstock started out as 7"x8" then folded (so your card is 4×7), Open the card back up and cut down 1-1/2" on the fold and score across so you can fold that flap down. Place adhesive across the bottom edge and up the side to hold the card together.

I added the DP which is from DCWV’s Spring Stack.  Since I made that round card with What’s Brewin’, I really wanted to use Espress Yourself this time.  It is one of my favorite sets!  An oldie, but a goodie!

I applied liquid applique to the marshmallows and added glitter to it while it was still wet.  Then I heat set it to make it puff!  Now they are glittery and puffy!  I also added glitter to the mug and heart.  The flower stamp is from In the Spotlight and was punched out with the 5 petal Flower punch from SU! as well.
The rectangles were cut with my Nestabilites and my Cuttlebug.  I also added primas, brads, ribbon and the most important thing…..a HERSHEY bar!!

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!

Did You Participate?

My weekend was full, how about yours?  This past weekend was VSN weekend at SCS.  VSN stands for Virtual Stamp Night!  They issue many challenges throughout Friday night and Saturday.  It is such a blast.  This past weekend was already full for me so I only got 2 cards done.  I may go back and complete some more later.

The first challenge I completed was to make a circle card with a particular layout. Here is the layout:  Circle20card20sketch

Here is my card:

Stamps:  What’s Brewin’, Espress Yourself
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, White
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Going Gray, Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Accessories: Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Stickles, Clear Bubble sticker, Iridescent Ice EP

The sparkly images around the outside are coffee beans embossed with the iridescent ice EP.  I used the stickles on the steam and the heart.

The second challenge I completed was Chocolate Shoes!  Jamie posted a picture for inspiration.  This is that picture.

Those are some yummy looking shoes!  Here is my card, inspired from this picture.

I really like this Bella stamp!  I’m not an avid shoe shopped but I have friends that are! Somedays I think I need to be, but it’s just not in me!  The DP is from DCWV’s Spring Stack and I layered it with Chocolate Chip and Pretty and Pink.

Until Next Time….Happy Stamping!!!

Very Powerful Video!!

WOW!  I just saw this video on Gina K’s blog and thought it was amazing!  I have seen some skits like this one before and they are always sooooo powerful.  Our church hasn’t ever done any like this, but I think it speak volumes to what we deal with everyday with our sinful nature!  I hope that it has a positive impact on each of you today!

Here is my card for this week’s SCS Ways TO Use it Challenge.  This week was to use Embossing Powder.  I purchased the My Favorite Things set called Boho Blossoms a while ago, but hadn’t used it yet.  I thought this would be the perfect set to use for embossing!  I also had a scrap of DP that would go along with the same style.  This is what I came up with.

The red cardstock is from the Paper Company and is part of their Cool Metallics line.  It is called Ruby Jewel.  It has a beautiful metallic flake in it which makes this card even more beautiful to see in person.
