Happy Halloween! SC148

I don’t usually make Halloween cards, but I had this paper and it was calling to me today!  I decided to make this card for the SCS Sketch Challenge.  Here is a copy of what the sketch looks like.

The DP is from Karen Foster.  I got it in a free pack from Archiver’s for spending $50.  The spider web was already embossed.  The stamp sets I used were Tag Time and Define Your Life.  I colored the images with my PrismaColor Pencils and blended them with Gamsol and blending stumps!  I used my SU! Photo Corner Punch and added a couple of Pumpkin Eyelets!
The cardstock colors are: Pumpkin Pie, Lovely Lilac and Confetti White.  I sponged around the image layer with Old Olive Ink.

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!

Baroque Motif Blessings!

I got a card done this morning so I thought I’d post it before something else comes up! A while back I got a pack of DP from Archiver’s for spending $50.  I decided today was a good day to open it and use it!  It is DP from Karen Foster.

This card is 5" square.  Isn’t always fun when you start out with a particular design in mind and it keeps changing as you start putting it together! That seems to happen to me a lot!  I started out to make the SCS featured stamper card.  It quickly turned into my own creation!  I’ll try to get back to the FS challenge later!
The 3 cut outs are raised up on dimensionals!  The background swirls were also stamped in Really Rust and Chocolate chip.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  SU! Baroque Motifs, Stem Silhouettes
Paper: Really Rust, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Karen Foster DP
Ink: Old Olive, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  Gold Brads, Ribbon, Dimensisonals

4736 Box Tops…

I finally finished counting and packaging the Box Tops for Education. I counted a total of 4736 labels!  These all had to be packaged into 50 label bundles.  I’m glad to be done for this round.  My little amount of work is definitely worth the $473.60 that will be sent to the school for the PTA!  Here is a picture of my box that I sent.  It filled one of my SU! boxes.  That’s a lot of Box Tops!!

Now that this is complete, maybe I’ll get to stamp again!!!

We have been hosting a bible study at our house for the last 6 weeks.  It has been a lot of fun and a wonderful study.  I don’t know if you have heard of Focus on the Family, but they are an awesome organization.  You can find their website at http://www.family.org.  Anyway, they have spent the last several years putting together this bible study called The Truth Project.  It is all about having a Biblical Worldview.   The world today tells us so many lies and this helps you understand the truth.  It’s wonderful!  You can watch the trailer to the study on this video.  You can find more info about it at http://www.truthproject.org.

Still not done…..

I’m still not done with my label duties!  I do have them all tallied for the classrooms and have them all cut.  Now I need to sort them by vendor and count them out for submission.  That will definitely take some more time!  My mom is coming down for the weekend so that will be really nice.  My house is a mess and I’m a little embarrassed about that, but we’ve had a lot going on.

We still don’t have a lot of news about my son.  They are testing him now for a parasite that he might have picked up at the lake on Labor Day.  I don’t have those results back yet, but one of his other tests showed positive for a bad bacteria.  We are treating him for that now, and the good thing is that this medicine will also kill off parasites if he has those as well!  They have switched his allergy meds to Singulair and said that will help his stomach as well as his allergies!  I feel like we’re making progress but still don’t have any definites.  Our appt at the GI clinic is Nov 2, and it can’t come soon enough!

Okay, enough about all of that.  I did manage to get one card made yesterday so I’ll post that now!

I made this card for the sketch challenge on SCS this week.  There are some really beautiful cards in the gallery with this sketch!  The verse stamp is from Eureka Stamps.  I have been looking for this verse for a LONG time!  I’ve even had other people hunting for this verse for me!  Boy and I glad I checked out Eureka Stamps.  I was actually looking for another stamp but came across this one in my hunt!  YEEEEHAAAAW!!!

Supplies Used:

Stamps:  EurekaStamps.com
Paper: Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chipe, Basic Grey Mellow DP, SandyLion Fall DP, Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Old Olive
Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Sponge Daubers, Ribbon, Brads

Winter Kinkade…SC146

Here is my card for last week’s SCS sketch challenge.  I’m a little behind on the challenges but got a chance to stamp today.  My son had another Dr. appt today and went to school this afternoon.
The sketch is turned onto it’s side because the stamp I wanted to use laid the wrong way!

Cornish Heritage Farms is who makes the Thomas Kinkade stamps.  They had another release last week but I haven’t the $$ to get any right now!  I will keep my eye on them though!!
I stamped the image on very vanilla cardstock with Black StazOn ink.  I used my SU markers to color the image.  I tried not to color it too solid but wanted it to look a little sketchy.  The colors I used were: Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel, Ruby Red, Bordering Blue, and Mellow Moss.
The DP paper I used is from Basic Grey.  The syle is called Fruitcake.  I buy mine at Archiver’s.
The card base is Chocolate Chip!  I sponged around the image with ruby red.

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!

Cut, Sort, Count…

Well, I’m not sure that I will have any playing time today.  I am the Label Coordinator for our school.  What that means is, it’s my responsiblilty to collect, cut, sort, count and submit all of the food labels.  We collect Box Tops for Education, Campbell’s Labels for Education, and Best Choice Food Labels.  We have been having a contest to see which classroom can bring in the most labels.  The winning classroom receives a party sponsored by the PTA!  I have a long day ahead!  You can see from the picture that it’s going to take me a while.

So, if you don’t hear from me today, you’ll know why!  Hopefully my back will cooperate and let me sit that long.

Have a great day!

Shiny Snowflakes…

I made this card for the SCS Feature Stamper Challenge.  This week’s stamper is TruCarMa.  She has an amazing gallery.  Check it out when you have a moment!  This is the card that I decided to case.
Here is my card:

I have been wanting to try the aluminum foil with my cuttlebug for a while, but thought a winter card would look the best.  I used SU!’s The Snowflake Spot stamp set stamped in Blue Frost and embossed with Iridescent Ice EP.  You can’t really see that in the picture though because of the angle.  Sorry.  It was hard to get a picture that the aluminum foil wasn’t glaring back at me!  I sponged around the outside of the white with Bashful Blue.  The layers are Night of Navy, Rose Red and Metallic Silver.  I used my SU Corner Rounder to add the scallops at the top and used my gingham ribbon.

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!

Alcohol Leaf…..

Alcohol_leaf_mr This card started out as something else but ended up like this!  I started to do the Feature Stamper Challenge on SCS but ended up with the card instead.  Sometimes that happens!  Anyway, I stamped the leaf collage stamp onto acetate with my Black StazOn ink pad.  I added different color Alcohol Inks to the back side of that acetate.  I layered that onto white so the colors would show vividly.  The circles were cut with my Mega Circle Punch and my Giga Scalloped Circle Punch.  The colors I used were Black, Marigold and Thyme.

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!
