Am I Really Back????

….well that’s a good question!!!  Several times in the last few months I’ve made some time to stamp and I would think this is it….I’M BACK!!!  Then life continues to get in the way and it’s another period of time before I get to stamp again!  Well, I’m hoping that I can get a little more into it each week!  In about another month or so, I will be having surgery and I will have at least a couple of weeks that I won’t be able to drive, so I will be “stuck home”!  I’m hoping that will get me back into the swing of things!

This past week I did take the time to create a couple of things.  Of course my mojo has long taken a vacation so I’m doing a little CASING to get my mojo flowing again!  Oh how I have missed Mojo!!!  LOL!  Anyway, I wanted to share the bread box that I made for some teachers at school and I filled them with Banana Bread!  Definitely a favorite of all our pregnant teachers!!!!

The template was created my MJ Price-Williams!  It is so easy to create and soooo cute when it’s done!

Bread Box MR

MJ’s blog is called Techno Stamper!  I will link to it here so you can check out all the cool things that she creates!

Also here is her tutorial in case you can’t find it on her blog!

While checking out Mels blog I found that she had put together a list of over 100 uses for the Scor Pal.  I just used mine this past week to make bindings for 6 little coaster books that I made for a baby shower.  Of course I just realized this morning that I never even took a picture of them!  Too bad now, the shower was last Sunday and they are home with the guest of honor!!

Below is her post!! (Aug 18
, 2008)

Over 100 links / Things you can do with your SCOR-PAL (& counting!)

The Scor-Pal:

(Sorry y'all that this initially went out to mailboxes unfinished, but here's the finished version) :O)

This one's for you Noreen! Inky hugs!

What's the Scor-Pal? I'd
me remiss if I called it a scoring tool, since I've discovered that
it's also an amazingly versatile & artful embosser. I never knew
until I had one (and also spent a day drooling over these links) that I
couldn't live without it! It makes everyday scoring a bazillion times
easier & it opens up new worlds of homemade papers.

  • There are a ton of free project tutorials (the projects section) (clicking on both the links in the left and right columns will let you see a ton of great schtuff)

I am cleaning house like a crazy woman today because I have company coming tomorrow.  Since I feel like we haven’t even been home for a week, it’s pretty bad!  You’d think since we’ve been gone so much, it would be clean…NOPE!  We’ve been home long enough to make messes but not get them picked back up.  I’m also trying to get caught up on laundry, including sheets!  That always takes soooo long to get done!!

Well, I promised you I’d make this card that opens twice and here it is!  The template is posted below the pictures so you can make one too!  When trying to figure out what stamps to use, I kept picturing the lighthouse sticking out of the top.  I added Stickles to the light to make is a little sparkly!  So this is what I came up with!

Download tlc166_card_instructions.pdf

These instructions were put together by Beth Warner.  This is the template for using an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of card stock.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Stamps- Light of the World
Paper: River Rock, Blue Bayou, Not Quite Navy, Vanilla, Basic Grey DP- Stella Ruby
Ink: Palette Noir Black, SU! Markers and Copic Markers
Accessories: Ribbon, Stickles, Dimensionals

Check out the SCS Challenge of the day and play along!

I love to do a One Sheet Wonder when I don’t have a a lot of time to make a card, or I need multiple cards quickly!  I picked up some new patterned paper yesterday and thought I’d give this a shot.  I’ve done the 8-1/2 x 11 size but not the 12×12.  The template I used, I found on SplitcoastStampers.  I have only complete one card, but wanted to post it!

I found this paper at Joanns.  It is called Floral Crochet–cream.  I believe the brand is Sandylion.
The colors match really well!

Stamps Used:  Polka Dot Posies, Bitty Bolds

Colors Used: Pretty In Pink, Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss

Accessories: Giga Scalloped Circle Punch, Mega Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Slit Punch, Chocolate Chip Marker, White Gel Pen, Pink and Brown Sheer Polka Dot Ribbon

I really like these colors together.  I think I’m going to have fun putting these cards together!  If you would like the template that I am using download this—>

Here is my first Nugget Box.  Of course I don’t have any Nuggets to put in it yet, so I temporarily put Dove Eggs in it!!  I really like those better anyway!  It just doesn’t fit quite the same though!!! 🙂

I found a thread on SCS that had a TON of templates for almost any size nugget box you would like to make.  cdjkssss has been a busy girl!  Check out the thread here.

Supplies Needed:

– 12"x 3" piece of card stock for the outside cover
-4-3/4" x 4-3/4" piece of card stock for the inside box
-Scoring tool
-scrap card stock for decorating

Directions: Take your 12×3 strip of card stock and score it at 3", 4", 7", 8", and 11".  Once you have it scored, fold it so that the 1" strip on the very end folds over to adhere to the 1" strip on the other end.  There is a picture below.
The left over 3" section folds over to create the top card.

For the box, just cut your card stock to 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" square.  Score at 7/8" from each side.  Cut tabs in the corners so you can fold it to make a box.

Decorate however you wish and fill with your favorite Nuggets (or dove dark chocolate, that’s my favorite!)

The supplies I used were:
Card stock:  Bashful Blue, Black, Glossy white for the inside message, Whisper White for the outside cover
Ink Colors: Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery
Ribbon from SU and Archivers
Stamps used:  Delightful Doodles (will be in the new catalog in July), and Alphabet Soup

Until Next Time…..Happy Creating!
