You can click on those pics of Josh and make them bigger!

Wednesdays at Red Robin is apparently kid night!  I had no idea!  I was hoping for free kids meals but I wasn’t that lucky!  Apparently the "special" of the night is that the kids get free shakes.  I’d rather have them take $2 off their meal price!!!  Also, they had a couple of ladies walking around making balloon creatures for the kids.  Joshua told her that he wanted a frog!  I had no idea it would be that large!  He couldn’t wear it in the restaurant because the legs were so long that they were hitting the man sitting behind him and the tongue (and fly) was slapping me in the face across the table!!  He’s having fun with it now!  Josh really likes frogs and so he decided that his tree frog named Sticky would like to fly around with this frog too.  You can see him in the picture above!
Gabby loves everything pink!  She chose a pink Poodle.  I thought the lady did a great job.  She made it a French Poodle she said!  I’m sure through the rest of the summer I will be hearing a lot about RR on Wednesday nights!  If it was a little cheaper, we may visit there more!!  Just for the two kids and me to eat supper with no dessert or extras (not even the tower of onion rings!) cost us $25.  That was including tip.  If my husband would have been with us it would have been another $10.  That’s crazy for burgers and fries!!!  Even if they are really good!!! 🙂

I ordered this set from PaperTrey Ink.  They release a new stamp set on the 15th of each month.  This was their last release.  These are acrylic stamps and I’m not used to using them.  I need to find some smaller acrylic blocks to use with them, because the one I have is a little too big!  Anyway, StamperSharon  (SCS name) inspired me to do a One Sheet Wonder with it.  She did one and it was absolutely gorgeous!!!  I’m not so sure about this color combo.  It just wasn’t what I was looking for.

The colors I used were:  Taken with Teal, Cool Caribbean, Regal Rose, and Pretty in Pink

I didn’t really have a pattern to use for this and I have left over pieces that I haven’t used yet.  We’ll see what I come up with!  Here are the others that I got done.

I loved the fact that the ribbon on the upper left corner card looked like little ladybugs!

Putting together colors has been another one of my challenges in this hobby!  I’m not really the "creative type", but I’m great at CASING!  I haven’t done as much casing lately, as I’m getting better at putting things together on my own.  But that’s hard when you don’t have a creative brain!  I really enjoy the process of card making and find it relaxing, when I’m not in a RUT!  Well, right now I feel like I’m in a rut, so the color combos will be beneficial to me and when I post the submissions, I hope they will be beneficial to others as well!

Thank you, my faithful readers!  My goal for next week is to put together another tutorial from your suggestions offered previously!

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!

Sketch_challengeWednesday is sketch challenge day.  Here is the post to today’s sketch challenge, SC126.

5/30/07 Sketch Challenge

I hadn’t used my Little Lady stamp yet and wanted to give her a try!
She came in the mail yesterday!
You can find this set at Paper Trey Ink.  I got the Butterfly Kisses stamps too! I’m very new to clear stamps, but I think if I can get some smaller acrylic blocks, they won’t be too bad.  I have to admit that I do prefer the wood mounted ones.  I hate having to mess with each stamp and change it all the time!!!  I decided to use my Spring Flowers DP.  I hadn’t used it for a while and was talking to a customer about it today.  Since it was on my mind, I pulled it out!!  I layered the DP onto Chocolate Chip.  Little Lady is layered with Black and Cameo Coral.  The other ink color is Mellow Moss.

My son decided to try the color challenge when he saw me working on mine.  The weekend of VSN he had sprained his hand and couldn’t participate.  He asked if there were any challenges he could do today!  I told him that I had a hard time and he didn’t understand why it was so hard for me, because it was easy for him!!  Here is his card.  The fish had been run through the cuttlebug with the fiskars templates to add texture.  You have to look really close to see it in the picture.

I think he did a great job!

Tuesday’s Color Challenge

Today’s Splitcoast color challenge was Garden Green, Cool Caribbean, and Chocolate Chip.  Using this color combo was a challenge for me!  But, this is what I came up with.  I hadn’t used my Loads of Love set for a long time!  The sun is from Crayon Kids and the flowers across the bottom is the Daisy Fields wheel.  I used Prima Flowers to accent the floral border.

Until Next Time…Happy Creating!!!

Summer is on it’s way, so it’s time to pack away the fleece blankets!  My kids absolutely LOVE the hand tied fleece blankets and never want to take them off of their beds.  Every summer we go through this terrible separation with our fleece blankets!  I decided it was time to get them a "summer blanket" to put on their beds.  While I was shopping at Joanns for some "other stuff", I saw this material and thought it would be perfect for their summer blankets.  I should have just bought blankets, it would have been cheaper!!!

This is my son.  He loves to read. He is signed up for the Summer Reading program with the Library and can’t get enough books!!!  I caught him all snuggled up in his new blanket reading a book last night!

Here is a closer look of the front side and the back.  I just tied them together with embroidery floss since I’m not a "real quilter"!!!

One thing both of my kids love is blankets!!

Here is my daughter.  She was all snuggled up with her blanket too!  Many of you have seen her picture here before!  She’s such a doll.  Her room is light purple and she has pink and purple gingham sheets and so her blanket fits right in!!

Here are both sides of her blanket.  I just thought this material was soooo adorable!
She also has butterfly’s stamped on either side of her window and has several wall hangings that match this as well!

Now you know why I keep posting VSN cards!  I have had other projects that I have been working on!  Hopefully I will get back to stamping this week!  The kids are now home for summer break, so we’ll see how much time I get to myself!!!

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!

Mono_butterflyHere is the last card that I’m going to post from VSN!  I’m sure you are glad to hear that!  I am glad too!  This challenge was to make a card with Monochromatic Color.  Many people chose to make their cards from various shades of a color but I chose to do Black and White.  The white layer was made with my Cuttlebug and D’Vine Embossing Folder.  The butterflies were also made with a Die Cut for my Cuttlebug.  I cut one from black and one from white and then cut them down the middle to pair them with the opposite color.  There is a dimensional in between the layers.

I had one more card that I made for VSN but really hated how it turned out!  It was for the challenge of reusing trash to complete the card.  There were some great ones, mine wasn’t one of them!!!! 🙂

Until Next Time….Happy Creating!!!
