Well, I survived my trip back home! It was a crazy week!! I really thought this one would be a little more relaxing than the last trip, but that wasn’t the case. This could really turn into a long story, but I’ll TRY keep it brief!! The kids went VBS while we were there, so I THOUGHT I would have every morning to myself, since my mom still had to work.
Here are a few pics from VBS. The theme was Rescue Zone- Saved by God’s Power! They had several Emergency Vehicles at the church throughout the week. The Hospital helicopter even came one day. My daughter was so excited, because she got to sit in it!
In this picture, my son is in the red shirt with the "sea" sign.
Each of my kids got special reading parts in the program. They were very excited. Also, the kids earn points throughout the week for attendance, bringing their bible, offering, saying their memory verses, bringing a friend, etc. Well, we were guests of the cousins so my kids didn’t earn extra points for that, but both of them had the highest points of their class and they each got a VBS theme T-shirt! They (and I) were SO excited! They did a great job!
After the program, the church puts on a carnival in the back parking lot. There were several games to play, plus food and balloons.
This is one of the Associate Pastors. He was having fun sporting a suit that was too small and had bare feet! I think he planned all the layers to help keep him warm!!
The next 2 pics are of my kids trying to launch water balloons! It was an awesome setup! One of the church members parked his business trailer out in the back of the parking lot and the kids got to launch water balloons at it!
This is my husband’s twin brother! He is a policeman back home and he got to bring the Police Motorcycle to the carnival for the kids and parents to see.
Well, my parents have been extremely busy working on my sister’s house so my mom didn’t have much time to work on the family reunion stuff that needed to be done by Saturday. We played Family Feud and we also had to put together an address/email book that included all the relatives. Of course we decided to stamp the covers (a little bit).
Here are the address/email books that we put together. I didn’t finish coloring them in.
I used the SU! Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel and the Loads of Love and Loads of Love Accessories sets.
I didn’t sleep well all week so I was also extremely tired. Needless to say, I only stamped 1 morning out of the whole week. I always stamp with my SIL while I’m there and we didn’t even stamp!! I will try to upload some of my finished products later.
We managed to go to the pool a couple of times just to decompress!! That was nice! The family reunion was really nice and everyone seemed to have a great time. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect! I think it was in the upper 70’s with a wonderful breeze.
My husband was gone all last week on a Mission’s Trip with our church so he was in Bemidji, Minnesota. Since he was one of the drivers, I didn’t think we would see him until we got home on Sunday night. He called Thursday night and asked if we could meet him along the interstate on Friday afternoon. He decided to send the truck on home with the guys that were riding with him and stay with us those last couple days. That was really nice for all of us!
That was my week! I hope yours was great too! It’s good to be home! 🙂 So much for keeping this brief!!
